Leighton Meester Wins the Weekend

The Roommate, the Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly horror flick, took first place at the box office this weekend, earning an estimated $15.6 million during its opening weekend. Not much for the top slot, but not bad for The Roommate. The James Cameron–produced Sanctum took second place, earning $9.2 million during its debut weekend. No Strings Attached hung on to third place, making $8.4 million over the weekend for a cumulative earning of $51.7 million. The King’s Speech took fourth, with $8.3 million, bumping its cumulative earning to $84.1 million. And The Green Hornet came in fifth, earning $6.1 million for a cumulative earning of $87.2 million. Last weekend’s winner, The Rite, has already been bumped to sixth place, making $5.5 million for a $23.6 million cumulative.
