Eastwood and Nicholson May Play Retired Superheroes

That’s if Matthew Vaughn has his way. The superhero-friendly director — who last helmed Kick-Ass and is currently wrapping up X-Men: First Class — is mounting The Golden Age as a potential project, and it’s based on an upcoming comic book by British talk-show host Jonathan Ross about elderly superheroes who leave their retirement home to fight alongside their grandchildren. Vaughn is hoping to enlist Jack Nicholson, the very busy Clint Eastwood (who is prepping A Star Is Born after he finishes directing Hoover), and Warren Beatty (who hasn’t acted in a decade and famously turned down Kill Bill) as the stars. Let’s hope they manage to do without spandex. [Deadline]
