Glee Discovers Sixpence None the Richer Song That Isn’t ‘Kiss Me’: Update

Having exhausted the still-nascent catalogues of Katy Perry and Bruno Mars, it’s time for Glee to start dipping into hitmakers past, and now that the track list has leaked for the show’s fifth compilation album this season, we’ve found an unusual beneficiary: Sixpence None the Richer. The twee late-nineties pop band will be covered on an upcoming episode of Glee, though the show won’t be using their best-known hit “Kiss Me,” or even “There She Goes,” another single we forgot about until today — thanks, Wikipedia! Instead, the album (which features the “Thriller” mash-up from the Super Bowl episode and Gwyneth Paltrow’s upcoming Prince duet) ends with a cover of “Loser Like Me,” which might as well fulfill Rachel Berry’s dream of singing an original song for all we know about it. Still, way to go, Sixpence. Lisa Loeb and Shawn Colvin, you’re on deck! UPDATE: Or not! It’s an original song that only served to get Sixpence None the Richer’s hopes up. [Perez Hilton]
