Mitch Hurwitz Made Running Wilde for the Brits

Mitch Hurwitz has put together a “guide to getting a sitcom canceled” for the Guardian, to honor both his excellent and canceled Arrested Development and his not-so-excellent and canceled Running Wilde. Among his cute, self-deprecating suggestions: “Have a confusing title” (Terriers and Cougar Town second and third this strategy), “Try to do too much for a 20-minute program,” “Add a sprinkle of incest,” “Make easy jokes about minority groups,” and “Squander iconic guest stars.” The only one that gives us pause: “Make a show for British sensibilities … And then show it in America.” Hmmm. Sorry, Mr. Hurwitz, but [whispers] we’re not sure the British are going to like Running Wilde either? [Guardian UK]
