It’s a modest affair compared to the titans like Coachella and Bonnaroo, but the Governors Ball — a new music festival announced today via press release — does have a lot going for it. Namley: It’ll be held June 18 at New York’s lovely Governors Island and will feature a relatively skimpy but potent lineup, including Big Boi, Pretty Lights, Empire of the Sun, Girl Talk, Neon Indian, People Under the Stairs, Mac Miller, a D.J. set from Passion Pit, and more to come. Also, with All Points West shuttered, it’s nice to see another big annual music fest contender on the East Coast.
