Well, another Oscars have come and gone, and left us unsatisfied. But in the last five years, when have the Oscars really delivered? (Exception, obviously, for Hugh.) At this point, the Academy has shown a willingness to try anything: They’ve installed new sets, hired new directors and new producers, gotten sexier hosts, included songs, not included songs, tried to shorten the ceremony, and made a play for younger audiences, but the end results are always lackluster. Do they need to get Billy Crystal back for real? And would that really make them any less boring (even if it would definitely make them more professional)? What do you suggest?
