Oscar winner Robert De Niro is teaming up with frequent Twitter fire-starter 50 Cent in Freelancers, a cop drama directed by Jessy Terrero, who previously helmed the esteemed Soul Plane. The film follows the son of a killed New York City cop, played by 50, who is taken under the wing of his dad’s former partner, played by De Niro, and eventually becomes part of “a rogue street crime task force,” according to Deadline. De Niro and 50 Cent previously teamed up on Righteous Kill, which didn’t work out so well for them. Second time around sounds pretty similar. [Deadline via Playlist/IndieWire]
