After 27 preview performances and 421 regular performances, the Green Day musical American Idiot will shut down April 24. Ticket sales recently took a dive when Billie Joe Armstrong, who has been an on-and-off cast member as the character St. Jimmy, left the show; he will return, however, for Idiot’s last three weeks. In the meantime, the cast is going to be wondrously strange: AFI front man Davey Havok is playing St. Jimmy for a while, and famed televised-singing-contest runner-up Justin Guarini is in this thing as well.
