Here’s a teaser for Talking Funny, the HBO special with a pretty basic premise: stick Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Louis CK and Ricky Gervais in a room and ask them to please talk to each other for an hour or so. With most people, this would not be very entertaining. If you stuck your parents and an aunt and uncle in a room for an hour and made them have a conversation, you would probably find yourself hiding in the bathroom fiddling with your phone as to avoid an argument about Fox News or that cousin your mom thinks is on drugs. But not these guys!
I also really like that Louis CK is now included in this super upper echelon of comedians. I mean, they really don’t get much bigger than Seinfeld, Rock and Gervais, and it speaks to the fact that pretty much every comedian out there puts Louis at the top of their list of peers that he’s joining them instead of, say Steve Martin or Conan or somebody like that. In any case, it airs on HBO on Friday, April 22nd at 9pm, so set your DVRs/illegal downloading apparati. [via]
