Robert De Niro and his Tribeca Productions partner Jane Rosenthal are developing an HBO project about Bernie Madoff, expected to be a starring vehicle for De Niro, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The network has picked up the rights to Diana Henriques’s The Wizard of Lies: Bernie Madoff and the Death of Trust, which hit shelves last month, the source material for the project.
