Michael Bay Offers $25,000 Reward for Racist Transformers

Michael Bay has spent the last year promising that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen characters Skids and Mudflap (the jive-talking Autobot “twins” who proved that even outer-space robots can succumb to questionable racial caricatures) would definitely not be appearing in his trilogy-ender, Dark of the Moon. And yet, both robots were spied on set and in the movie’s trailer, and a recent advance review of Dark of the Moon claimed they made the final cut, too. Who to believe? Maybe the guy with the money: “I am offering a $25,000 REWARD to anyone who can find them performing in Transformers 3, on July 1, when the movie opens,” Bay wrote on his message board this weekend. “The Twins are not in the movie. You will not find them anywhere. Trailer houses sometimes use shots that are not in the movie! End [of] story I’m done wasting my time [on] this!” If you’ve been keeping track and applying the transitive property to Bay-promised rewards, then, the sight of Skids and Mudflap onscreen is about half as important as apprehending a notorious puppy killer. Sounds about right. [Shoot for the Edit via Movieline]
