Quentin Tarantino No Longer Suing Alan Ball Over Angry Birds

It was one of Hollywood’s most enjoyably odd lawsuits: One Oscar-winning screenwriter, Quentin Tarantino, was suing another, Alan Ball, over the latter’s loudly cawing exotic birds, which the former could hear all day from his house next door. Sadly, the lawsuit’s conclusion was not nearly as noisy as its subject. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the case was dismissed two weeks ago since the summons was never served; Tarantino’s lawyer, Martin Singer, confirmed that resolution to the Times and said it positively affected Tarantino’s next project, Django Unchained: “Some people said it’s the best script he’s ever written, because he had the peace and quiet.” [NYT via Esq./HR]
