Sarah Michelle Gellar’s bad-luck streak with pilots has come to an end, and in a most unusual way. CBS declined to pick up Ringer, a serialized thriller that stars Gellar as twin sisters, and it initially looked like it would share the same fate as The Wonderful Maladys, her drama pilot that HBO declined to order two years ago. However, you should never count Buffy out: CBS has tossed Ringer to its sister network, the CW, which picked it up with a series commitment. If you squint, it’s almost like Gellar is back on the WB!
