In case you were wondering how Hangover Part II is going to be distinct from the first, feel free to start wondering the same thing about Hangover Part IIInow. “If we were to do a third one, if the audience [and] if the desire was there—I think we have a clear idea where that would head and it’s certainly not in the same template you’ve seen these movies and obviously we always envisioned it as a trilogy as you can imagine,” director Todd Phillips said at a press conference for the upcoming sequel yesterday. “The third would very much a finale and an ending. The most I could say about it and I haven’t discussed it with these actors is that it is not following that template but very much a new idea.” I smell Three Wildly Out Of Control Men And A Baby. In the meantime, Phillips has an even better idea: a spin-off for Ken Jeong’s good-time gangster Mr. Chow. “I love this world that we’ve created,” Phillips explained. “Mr. Chow is definitely a man of mystery like Austin Powers and obviously he has a web woven deep in crime.”
