Vulture Premieres Fall Out Boy Front Man Patrick Stump’s Solo Track ‘Explode’

When Vulture caught up with Patrick Stump, front man for the currently-on-indefinite-hiatus Fall Out Boy, he told us he was “gambling everything on this [solo project]. If it doesn’t take off I’m gonna go broke, and I don’t care … I don’t have any reason to do this other than it’s what I want to do. So I’m pretty psyched about that.” As well he should be: From the sound of “Explode” — a brand-new Stump solo track that manages to be both heavily indebted to Michael Jackson and, in good news for FOB loyalists, not totally unlike Stump’s old band — this dude will be just fine.
