In an interview with Rolling Stone, Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino chats about her burgeoning friendship with Drew Barrymore, who’ll direct her next music video. The two met backstage at a show in L.A. and hit it off. “She’s the nicest, most down-to-Earth person I’ve ever met,” Cosentino explains. “We were like, ‘How can we work together?’” The duo decided to make a music video, with Barrymore behind the camera, and they threw in a bunch of other celebrities for good measure: Miranda Cosgrove, Chloe Moretz, Donald Glover, and “a lot of really cool people” will appear in the video, which also has a “very cool concept,” Cosentino promises. In other Best Coast news, the band will hit the studio this fall to record a new album. “I’ve been trying to find a way to blend classic pop stuff with this new country thing I’ve been exploring,” Cosentino says. “The second record is something I try to avoid thinking about but also cannot stop thinking about.” [RS]
