Patti Smith will guest-star in an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent this Sunday, and not just any episode, but the one that’s based on Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Smith plays a mythology professor at Columbia who has to explain the story of Icarus, the boy who flew too close to the sun, to Vincent D’Onofrio. “Icarus, my favorite metaphor for failed ambition,” she says, and not so badly!
