Coheed and Cambria Bassist Arrested for Holding Up a Walgreens

Coheed and Cambria bassist Michael Todd was reportedly arrested for holding up an Attleboro, Massachusetts, Walgreens just before the band was set to play a show. Todd allegedly showed the supermarket pharmacist “a cell phone note” that said he had a bomb, before demanding Oxycontin and exiting the store with six bottles of the painkiller. From there, he took a taxi to the Comcast Center, where he was playing that night. Todd was arrested without incident after he was identified by the cabbie, the pharmacist, and by surveillance video. Held on $10,000 bail, he’s been charged with armed robbery and unlawful possession of prescription narcotics. On one hand: Scary! Don’t steal drugs! On the other: When was the last time you heard about Coheed and Cambria (who are pretty good, as we now recall)? It’s the most press the band has gotten since 2007. Or ever. [TMZ]
