The underused Giovanni Ribisi has landed a starring spot in Ruben Fleischer’s The Gangster Squad, according to Deadline. The period crime drama, which takes place in 1949 L.A., also stars Sean Penn as Mickey Cohen, and Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin as members of the elite cop squad that’s after him.
