Ides of March Trailer: Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, and Some Presidential Politics

“I don’t have to play dirty anymore,” an earnest-sounding Ryan Gosling murmurs in The Ides of March, and it’s just one of the many lines in this trailer that could be stamped “famous last words.” March is based on the play Farragut North, which is itself loosely based on Howard Dean’s presidential campaign. George Clooney, who also directed the film, plays the unbelievably handsome politician, Gosling plays the brilliant campaign strategist, Paul Giamatti plays the rival manager trying to woo him to a different campaign, and Marisa Tomei is the New York Times reporter everyone tells his or her secrets to. Ah yes, movies where nothing explodes. We remember you.
