If you’re concerned about how the children of America will fare growing up without the wisdom of Fred Rogers’s cardigan-sweater-softened world, fret not — PBS will begin airing an animated spinoff of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood in the fall of next year. The new series, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood (hosted by the fictional 4-year-old son of the original Tiger) will feature characters from the Neighborhood of Make-Believe who have since grown up and spawned children of their own.
