Rebecca Black Is Releasing a New Single

Rebecca Black’s highly anticipated follow-up to the smash hit “Friday,” which recently surpassed Justin Bieber’s “Baby” to become the most played YouTube video ever, will reportedly be called “My Moment,” and it’ll debut July 18 on Black’s YouTube channel. The 14-year-old is also finishing up a five-song EP, due out in August. The description of her next video, via The Hollywood Reporter, is already great: “Written by Brandon Hamilton, whose credits include a track on Never Say Never: The Remixes, and produced by Charlton Pettus (Tears for Fears, Hilary Duff), [the single’s] accompanying video features footage of Black receiving an award at her junior high school and attending red-carpet premieres, to tell the story of her ‘sudden rise to fame,’ according to a statement. ‘It’s a fairytale story, but it happened in real life.’” Ahhhhhhhhhh! We can’t even tell anymore if our excitement about this is ironic or not — we may be genuinely looking forward to hearing this thing. [THR]
