Ricky Gervais and Dexter showrunner Clyde Phillips are working on a new project together: Afterlife follows an atheist who dies and finds himself in heaven. Gervais has been doing religion-based material for a long time, and he has been talking about atheism for years and years. Phillips previously created Parker Lewis Can’t Lose, so this is about as natural a fit as you can find. Gervais is currently working on Life’s Too Short, so Afterlife will start filming early next year. [EW]
