Ron Howard directed Tom Hanks and his mullet in 2006’s The Da Vinci Code and again in 2009’s Angels & Demons, and that seems to have been enough. Deadline is reporting that Howard has opted to produce rather than direct The Lost Symbol, the third installment of Dan Brown’s trilogy, because he didn’t want to rehash the same characters and the same stories yet again. Also, we suspect, because he needs more time to work on the Arrested Development movie. [Deadline]
