As was reported earlier this summer, Charlie Sheen is planning to make his comeback with a new sitcom called Anger Management. And, according to The Hollywood Reporter, other humans who are not Charlie Sheen are interested in signing up for it. Writer-producers Tom Straw (Grace Under Fire, The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson), Bruce Helford (Roseanne, The Drew Carey Show), and Chris Case (Mad About You, Spin City) have all reportedly met with Sheen and his team about overseeing the show.
How is it that all these professionals are so willing to ignore the actor’s status as the world’s hugest liability? Well, as one agent pointed out, times remain tough: “It’s a job, and potentially a long-running one.” Has the word “potentially” ever sounded so overly optimistic? [THR]
