Billy Crystal says he’s open to hosting the Oscars “maybe one or two more times,” saying that last year’s brief appearance made him “a little itchy” to emcee again. “I did eight of them … and it got to be too much,” he told a crowd in Santa Monica last night, who had gathered for a twentieth anniversary screening of City Slickers. Crystal’s been talking about a return to hosting duties since at March, when he said “it might be fun” to host again, and he had pretty good advice for potential hosts back in December: “Look like you want to be there.” Are you listening, Brett Ratner?
