If the crowds at last week’s Pier 54 show were any indication, Deer Tick have managed to build themselves quite a healthy fan base over their nearly seven years of life. Well, here’s some good news for fans of this Providence-based band: Vulture’s got an exclusive first listen of “Miss K,” the first single from the band’s forthcoming album, Divine Providence, due out on October 25. While there are still traces of Deer Tick’s signature rootsy Americana sound, “Miss K” dials up the alt-country vibes, albeit in an upbeat way, that moves the band’s studio sound closer to that of their rambunctious live sets. Clocking in at just under three and a half minutes, the song gets off to a quick and rousing start, never letting up until the fade out, only asking that you drink and sing along: Two things that are hard to argue with. Anyway, enough reading — check it out and let us know what you think.
