Deadline reports that Lionsgate has set High School Musical director Kenny Ortega to direct a remake of Dirty Dancing (deal with it, it’s happening, there’s nothing you can do about it, etc.) and the studio is moving ahead quickly with the project. Ortega has swum in these waters before — not only was he once attached to another remake of an eighties dance flick, Footloose, but he actually choreographed the original Dirty Dancing. Do we have Crazy, Stupid, Love to blame for this idea? We might! [Deadline]
