Spike Jonze Teams Up With Jay and ‘Ye

If you thought the collaborative muscle of Jay-Z and Kanye West’s forthcoming joint album Watch the Throne couldn’t get any more insane, think again. Jay told Hot 97’s Angie Martinez today that he nabbed Jackass mastermind/short-film kingpin Spike Jonze to direct the video for “Otis,” an Otis Redding–sample-based single off the album that dropped late last month. He didn’t discuss details of the video, but based on a photo from the shoot that shows the American flag image associated with “Otis,” we can guess it’ll somehow play off the song’s “Not bad, huh, for some immigrants?” brand of braggadocio.
