Bill Lawrence, the friend-defender who created Cougar Town and Scrubs, and Greg Malins, who executive produced Friends and How I Met Your Mother, have sold a workplace comedy to CBS. They haven’t announced any of the show’s plot details beyond the fact that it’s a multi-camera series; Malins has a boatload of such shows under his belt, but Lawrence hasn’t worked in that format since Spin City. Given the pair’s previous credits, though, the new show probably involves a slightly wacky group of pals who occasionally antagonize each another, even though they’re incredibly devoted to one another — as if they’re more than co-workers or neighbors, but are instead a family.
