If you’re one of the tens of thousands who’ve never been able to get a highly coveted ticket to The Book of Mormon, we’ve got some good news and some bad news for you. First, the good! Trey Parker and Matt Stone have been actively discussing a movie version: “We want to do it some day,” Parker told EW. Unfortunately, that day is pretty far away, since the Broadway musical is still such a financial windfall. “Hopefully it will have a big run and a big tour and then we can do the movie in several years,” Stone said, though he doesn’t expect the current, Scott Rudin–produced Broadway version to change too much on its way to the big screen. “The great thing is, a lot of Broadway teams would have to go team up with a Hollywood producer and bring on a Hollywood director, but Trey’s a director and Scott’s a great producer,” said Stone. “We’ve all made movies. So it’s kind of cool, it can stay in the same family.” [Inside Movies/EW]
