How do you advertise the drama I Melt With You, which is 122 minutes of Thomas Jane, Jeremy Piven, Rob Lowe, and Christian McKay screaming and snorting cocaine? Well, you do it with a fairly accurate red-band trailer that’s got both those things! The midlife crisis movie was not among Sundance’s most well received, but this tale of four men whose annual drugs-and-sex trip goes awry (and then there’s a suicide pact? Oh man, we had repressed all these memories) got picked up anyway. We sure hope they left in the part where their sweaty shenanigans are juxtaposed with near-subliminal shots of the Challenger explosion! Oh, this movie.
