Watch the Making of Julian Casablancas’s ‘I Like the Night’

Last week, we drew your attention to a short French perfume ad starring Strokes front man Julian Casablancas. (For inquiring minds, Decibel, the fragrance, carries notes of Amalfi lemon, violet, and tonka bean, and arrives in the U.S. next year.) Casablancas wrote an original song, “I Like the Night,” for the European commercial, and now Vulture can offer you both a first look at a new, longer ad and a behind-the-scenes video about the making of the song. Highlights of the latter include: arty studio footage; a typically nonchalant Julian explaining his inspiration (“I’ve always been a night person, just enjoy the evening”); and several longer previews of the song itself. Plus, Casablancas actually removes his sunglasses at one point. Check it all out below.
