Keifer Sutherland will be back on TV come spring, Fox announced today. He’ll star in Heroes creator Tim Kring’s Touch, which centers on a single dad who discovers that his mute 11-year-old son is secretly a genius who is trying to communicate with him through patterns and numbers. Danny Glover will play a professor who specializes in numerical super genius children, and Gugu Mbatha–Raw will play the kid’s social worker in what the network is calling “a distinct and colorful drama in which science and spirituality intersect.” Given Kring’s and Sutherland’s TV histories, it’s clear Touch will have a gangbusters first season, lose its way a little, then lose its way completely, then maybe bounce back a tiny, tiny bit once all its loyal fans have given up.
