Everything’s coming up Milhouse for Melissa McCarthy: Last night’s surprise Emmy winner also sold a sitcom pilot to CBS, which she co-wrote and will co-executive produce with her husband, Ben Falcone. The multi-camera show is about a woman who “has a spectacular midlife crisis,” she told Deadline. This comes after her breakout role in Bridesmaids, selling a feature script about stealing the Stanley Cup, getting cast in another Judd Apatow movie, also being cast opposite Jason Bateman in a buddy comedy, and maybe having a movie built around the idea of Jon Hamm being obsessed with her. Perhaps her winning streak will continue with Mike & Molly getting canceled, thus freeing her up to star in her own, of-course-it-would-be-better show. [Deadline]
