Steven Soderbergh’s behavior isn’t doing much to quiet the crazy ass speculation about his career. While he confirmed last week that he was quitting filmmaking to become a painter, he’s now saying that the job change isn’t meant to be permanent — art world success or no. He told the UK’s Observer that his (maybe) imminent departure from the movie industry is “less dramatic that it sounds; it’s just a sabbatical.” Enough, Soderbergh: How about just stick with the Magic Mike casting updates until you come to a definitive conclusion on this.
