Bill Paxton Will Direct Kung Fu

Bill Paxton.

Bill Paxton has left TV behind to resurrect his feature career, but he’s bringing something from the small screen with him: Deadline reports that the actor will direct a movie version of Kung Fu, the classic seventies series that starred David Carradine. Before he starred on Big Love, Paxton had branched out into directing with the well-received Frailty and The Greatest Game Ever Played (and let us never forget his sterling work helming “Fish Heads”), so while this news may seem unlikely at first, it’s not as weird as, say, a sudden news alert that Chloë Sevigny is directing a big-budget reboot of Mork & Mindy. (Though that would be a great Halloween present.) [Deadline]
