Eric Bana is set to depict a particularly strange episode in the life of Elvis Presley in Elvis & Nixon. The film, which Bana will also produce, is focused on a 1970 meeting between the musician and the president, which took place after Presley sent a six-page letter to the White House asking to be made a “Federal Agent-at-Large” in the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. (His attempt to convince Nixon of his fitness for the proposed role included the gift of a Colt 45 pistol.) Nixon will likely be played by Danny Huston. [THR]
