We’re anxious to see Kathryn Bigelow’s next film as soon as possible, but Republicans would prefer that she hold off a little while longer. In August, New York Republican congressman Peter King demanded an investigation into whether the White House had been working with Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal on the fact-based movie Kill Bin Laden (about the hunt to find and assassinate the Al Qaeda leader) in exchange for an October 2012 release date that could help influence the presidential election the next month. Now the New York Times is reporting that Sony will bump Bin Laden back, potentially even to 2013. Osama bin Laden: still so elusive! [Media Decoder/NYT]
