Mindy Kaling may be taking part in a star-studded reading of The Breakfast Club this week, but she’s got her eyes on an even bigger remake prize: Ghostbusters. The New Yorker reveals that in Kaling’s new book, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?, she proposes a distaff cast that may be just the thing to jump-start the long-dormant franchise: Kaling herself, Emily Blunt, Taraji Henson, and Natalie Portman. But which commercial would Kaling draw from to create her own version of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man? “That T-Mobile girl in the pink dress,” she says to the magazine’s Book Bench. “Every guy I know has a crush on her — she’s pretty and pristine and not edgy at all.
