Reality Bites writer Helen Childress has a new script, her first since she wrote the nineties classic, and Fox is developing it for Ben Stiller to direct, reunion-style. Is it an update to our beloved gang of disaffected twentysomethings, now all grown up? A portrait of contemporary ennui? A contrast between Generation X and the Millennials? In fact no, not at all! The Mountain, set in the early 1900s, is based on characters from Edith Wharton’s Summer, but with a horror/Rosemary’s Baby vibe. As long as there’s a part of Steve Zahn, we’ll be happy. [Deadline]
