Sunday’s fourth season finale of Breaking Bad rang plenty of viewers’ bells: Per Nielsen, the AMC drama averaged 1.9 million viewers. That’s up more than 15 from last summer’s season three swan song (which notched 1.6 million viewers), and particularly explosive considering this year’s capper had to go up against NFL football on NBC and MLB playoff coverage on Fox. Overall, Bad had another great season: After bowing to a series-best 2.6 million viewers in July, the series averaged 1.9 million viewers for the full season; that’s up 23 percent over last year. The series was particularly strong with viewers under 35, gaining 43 percent more viewers in that demo versus 2010. Meanwhile, over in Networksville, ABC’s Pan Am hit some major turbulence Sunday. The show’s third episode tumbled nearly 30 percent in the key under 50 demo, averaging a weak 1.9 rating in the category.
