Leave it to Tilda Swinton to turn a story of childhood jealousy into a twisted, edgy tale of would-be fratricide. The star of We Need to Talk About Kevin, the soon-to-be-released, Cannes-approved dark drama about the parents of a teenage sociopath, apparently knows a thing or two about dark desires. She admitted to the Telegraph that she had a death wish for her baby brother when she was little. “I remembered when I was four or five, I tried to kill my own brother,” she says. “I went into his room to kill him, saw some ribbons from a bonnet going into his mouth, and began to pull them out. And I was discovered saving his life. So I had this strange reputation — my brother’s savior — and no one knew I wanted to kill him.” Now we know, Tilda. And it just makes you more intriguing.
