Though Lou Reed and Metallica’s 90-minute Lulu has proven challenging for many a listener (New York’s Nitsuh Abebe called it “ludicrous” and “strange because of the remarkable extent to which it doesn’t really work”), the collaboration has found at least one fan: Darren Aronofsky, who has agreed to direct the video for “Iced Honey.” That song, for the unfamiliar, is about trapping a butterfly in a jar and then dying violently (plus something about a charbroiled lamb?), so it should be right up Aronfsky’s perverse, Requiem alley. Lou Reed, for his part, hopes the video “can be his next Black Swan.” (Presumably Lou is as big a Mila Kunis fan as the rest of us.) Anyway, this should be sufficiently weird! [Billboard]
