Pennie becomes the second member of the band to exit in the past three months. In July, bassist Michael Todd was arrested after holding up a Walgreens and a month later made a “mutual decision” with Coheed to leave the group. Pennie, who joined the band in 2007, said in a statement that he wishes to devote his full attention to metal band Return to Earth and his music production company, Flight Mannequins.
