Justin Bieber Made His Own Claymation Christmas Special

When Justin Bieber’s Christmas album leaked two days before Halloween, Vulture did our best to be respectful, both of other holidays and of the individuals who get wildly incensed about pre-Thanksgiving yuletide cheer. Too soon is too soon. But Halloween is now a distant memory, Under the Mistletoe will hit No. 1 this week, and the Biebz is releasing a Christmas video every other week. We can’t fight it any longer, friends; the season is upon us. To celebrate, young Justin today presents the video for his Jackson 5–ified cover of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” which inserts an “animagic,” slightly bobble-headed Bieber into visuals cribbed from the classic Rankin and Bass holiday specials. Other features include a curiously spelled Santa’s list (Irean? Is that common?), bescarved drummer penguins, break-dancing squirrels, and the Ron Weasley–esque Santa from Santa Claus Is Coming to Town. Should you desire more North Pole Bieber whimsy, a live-action version of the video will be playing in theaters with Arthur Christmas, but Vulture would instead recommend you spend that time listening to “Drummer Boy” on repeat. Is everyone hip to that song yet? It’s insane! Go listen again.
