Country music star Keith Urban is set to undergo throat surgery later this month to remove a polyp from his vocal cords. Like John Mayer, who had a similar operation last month, Urban will need some serious vocal rest and has already canceled two concert appearances this month and postponed a benefit concert in January. But looks like he’s waiting until after the Country Music Association Awards next week to go under the knife. He’s expected to perform at the televised ceremony, where he is in the running for best male vocalist and best entertainer of the year.
