Liev Schreiber is heading to cable for his first real TV gig. He’s set to play the titular character in Showtime’s drama pilot Ray Donovan, about a Hollywood fixer who “can’t quite escape the damage in his own troubled family,” according to Deadline. He can’t fix everything. Showtime sure loves its troubled antiheroes with dark secrets! Dexter, Californication, Nurse Jackie, The Big C, Homeland — well, if it ain’t broke, etc. Donovan comes from Southland creator and executive producer Ann Biderman, whose previous work demonstrates that she knows her way around L.A.’s seedy side.
