Potty-mouthed, chest-baring Brit Russell Brand is the latest actor to attempt the crossover to producer, a growing trend in Hollywood, with two of this week’s releases — Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar and Adam Sandler’s Jack and Jill — the progeny of such unions. According to the Hollywood Repoter, Brand is set to produce and headline a Warner Bros. comedy going by the seemingly made-for-TV-sounding title The President Stole My Girlfriend. And if you were at all worried that Brand was going to have to drop the accent in order to play Mr. President, fears allayed. “In this movie, the president steals the girlfriend of a sexy hippie — me, obviously,” he told the Reporter.
