Acquired by Warner Bros. two years ago and envisioned as a drama, à la Heat, the studio will instead try heist film Conviction as an action comedy with Steve Carell acting and producing. The Jonathan Herman script will center around Carell, “a mastermind bank robber who is forced by an FBI agent to entrap his protégé as the upstart pulls off a multimillion-dollar job,” Deadline reports.
